The formula
Fuel needed (liters) = Distance (km) ÷ Mileage (km per liter). Cost = Fuel needed × Price per liter.
Step-by-step example
For a 250 km trip in a car that gets 15 km per liter, with fuel priced at ₹102 per liter: fuel needed = 250 ÷ 15 ≈ 16.7 liters. Cost = 16.7 × 102 ≈ ₹1,700.
